Hi, my name is Ruth Jones, and I am a certified Pro Advisor Bookkeeper working in Glen Allen, VA, a part of the greater Richmond metropolitan area. However, thanks to cloud technology, I can service organizations all over the country.
Although I have had a variety of positions in my life, actuarial analyst, math teacher, library media specialist, etc., I always had a couple of themes running throughout my career. One was wanting to help people, and the other was numbers. (Okay, maybe the Dewey Decimal System was a numbers stretch for the Library Media Specialist position, but I was helping patrons.) And that is what attracted me to bookkeeping. Assisting organizations in managing and interpreting their finances to enhance overall efficiency.
I was born where “the tall corn grows” (Iowa) and moved to the windy city suburbs (Chicago) when I was 12. Thus, I am a die-hard Chicago Bears fan. I met my husband after moving to Virginia for a new actuarial position. We have been married for over 25 years. We own one black cat named Sylvester. Although he really thinks he owns us.
