Frequently asked questions

What clients ask us regularly

Everything you need to know before getting started.

How much do your services cost?

Because every nonprofit is different, pricing is customized based on your specific needs. I consider things like the number of bank and credit card accounts, monthly transactions, whether you have payroll services required and whether any catch-up or clean-up work is required. My goal is to keep services practical and manageable for your organization, and I’ll always provide a clear quote before any work begins.

Who do you work with?

I work primarily with nonprofits and small organizations, especially those with volunteer treasurers who want reliable, organized bookkeeping without having to manage it all themselves.

What services do you provide?

I provide ongoing bookkeeping services including transaction categorization, account reconciliations, and clear financial reports such as the Statement of Activities and Statement of Financial Position. I also offer catch-up and cleanup services if your books need to be brought up to date.

Do you use QuickBooks?

Yes, I work with QuickBooks Online and can help set up or organize your system so it’s easy to understand and maintain.

How often will I hear from you?

I believe in clear and consistent communication. I typically provide regular updates and reports, and I’m available by email for questions. Many clients also prefer a monthly or quarterly check-in to review their financials together.

What if my books are behind?

That’s very common, and it’s something I can help with. I offer catch-up and cleanup services to get your books organized and current before moving into ongoing support.

Do you understand nonprofit accounting?

Yes, I’m familiar with nonprofit reporting, including the use of Statements of Activities and Financial Position, and the differences between net assets and equity. I focus on keeping things clear and accurate, so your reports are useful for your board and leadership.

Will I still have access to my books?

Absolutely. You will always have full access to your financial records. I recommend that the organization owns the QuickBooks account to ensure long-term continuity and control.
